The northern part of the park is where the beautiful Payette Lake surrounds the Peninsula Unit and is in the heart of one of Idaho's most popular year-round destinations. The park has every type of fun activities that you would want and is the perfect place to bring your family. They even have wifi at the visitors center and activity center, so if you don't want to unplug you don't have to. They also have amenities like toilets, showers, a dump station, electricity, water, and more.
They also have some cool learning programs like guided walks and junior ranger programs that are offered during the summer months. Some of the specials that happen are Nordic Skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, star gazing, etc. Make sure to experience Idaho backpacks while you enjoy the park.
The park is open all year round for day use activities and there is always more to explore.
There are numerous activities that you and your family will enjoy. Relish in a picnic with your loved ones then take a hike on the numerous trails some paved and some are dirt. If you prefer to ride bikes there are also some cycling trails. If you want to be in the water there are places to swim and go fishing there as well. The wildlife is beautiful as well as the pretty wildflowers. In the winter guests of the state park can go skiing and Nordic skiing.
Wildlife
There is also a lot of wildlife to look out for. It is common to see waterfowl like ospreys, bald eagles, hawks, and geese. There are also plenty of other birds like owls, sandhill cranes, and songbirds. Some of the other wildlife is a sight to see as well. Families can watch out for deer, moose, beavers, bears, foxes, weasels, and of course squirrels.
